Beer brat recipes are now becoming a popular and easy way to eat your way through the week.
Here are a few of our favourites.
Ingredients: 1 cup (250g) flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/3 cup (150ml) milk 1 egg 1 cup beer 2 tbsp oil (we use a vegetable or vegetable-based oil) 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp sugar, for dusting 2 tbsp fresh ginger, finely grated Directions: In a medium bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking powder, milk and eggs together until a dough forms.
Add the beer and stir to combine.
Divide the dough into 8 equal parts and shape into balls.
Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add ginger, ginger powder, sugar, ginger, lemon juice and vinegar.
Stir until the ginger and sugar are dissolved.
Pour into the batter and stir well.
Sprinkle the flour over the batter.
Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown and the edges are browned.
Serve warm with a drizzle of the beer brats’ dust. 3.2.2928
